More than a simple day care, Montessori Community School provides the highest quality Montessori education from birth through kindergarten.

MCS strives for a true Montessori experience which is structured by AMI (Associated Montessori Internationale) principles. We are the only school accredited by AMI in the Santa Cruz and Monterey area, and one of just a handful of schools in the Bay Area.

Each child at MCS is actively supported in the self-directed pursuit of lifelong intellectual, emotional, and spiritual growth. OUR PROGRAMS

Nido

Our Nido Program (Italian for nest) serves infants from 6 weeks of age to 18 months. Maria Montessori believed that education as an “Aid to Life” begins from the period of pregnancy.

Toddlers

The Puffins & Jellyfish, our Toddler classes, serve children from 18 months of age through 3 years. For this age group, we offer half day and full day programs four days and five days a week.

Primary Children

At three years, sometimes earlier, children are ready to join one of our Primary/Preschool environments. We have three classrooms: The Dolphins, The Otters and The Octopus. Here they will stay for three years & through Kindergarten.
